Hi Juliana - after your post I did some research on a Harry Fannon that we have on the tree. It turns out that he had a son also named Harry. The first Harry was born in 1901 while his son was born in 1923. I also found the spouses and some of the children for the first Harry. After this I found a obituary for the second Harry that confirmed the information that I had previously found. It states that he was a former resident of Stonega, Va and that one of his grandchildren is Juli Fannon. However, it also states that his son's name was Jeff - not James. Could a part of your father's name be Jeff? If so, then this looks like a good fit. This link will take you to his page where we have the obituary. http://www.fannons.net/genealogy/getperson.php?personID=I457&tree=T1.

Welcome to the clan!!! I don't know if you have figured out how to navigate the genealogy part of the site but if you hit the 'Ancestors' tab on your grandfather's page, you will find your great great grandfather - Jesse R Dempsey Fannon. We have a picture of him that we got from another Fannon. It seems to be in a coal mine work area. One of the son's is Harry Fannon your great grandfather.

We do not post anything for people who are still living. Ideally we would like:

Pictures
Some text that would describe them
All dates and places -
Documents

Basically anything that you would like to place on the site.

Above all - all old pictures are very much appreciated.

We hope that you will find closer relatives and it should help by placing more information on the site

Thanks for all your help

Oh my gosh, Jesse R. Dempsey Fannon was my great grandfather, his son Dempsey Fannon was my grandfather. I'm pretty sure, this is the same Fannon's because, they did live in a coal mining town. Coburn VA. My mothers name was, Ruth Marie Fannon, before she married my dad (Arthur Edward Sullivan).

Dear Juli,

Does your mother have any living brothers? If so, would anyone in your family be interested in having in having one of your male Fannon uncles test for y-DNA. We already have three of the descendants of Bryant & Abegail Fannon tested. If you would like more information, please contact me at: jpfannin@hotmail.com.

Regards,

Pat Fannin
